Day 1:Marrakech – Agdz
Start your 3-day desert tour from Marrakech at 8:30 AM, leaving from your hotel and heading south toward the stunning Erg Chegaga dunes. You’ll cross the impressive Atlas Mountains and pass through beautiful Berber villages. The views from the mountains, looking over the valleys and villages surrounded by rough landscapes, are truly amazing. After crossing the Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2,260 meters), the highest point in North Africa, make a stop to visit Kasbah Telouet, also known as the Palace of Glaoui, which was once the home of the El Glaoui family. Continue your journey down the mountains until you reach Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for being featured in many Hollywood movies. After lunch, head further south, passing through Ouarzazate and crossing the Anti-Atlas Mountains to reach Agdz, a lovely oasis town known for its palm trees and delicious dates. As you go down the Tizi-n-Tinfifite pass (1,660 meters), enjoy the breathtaking views of the Draa Valley. Retire for the night in a delightful guest house overlooking the valley.

Day 2: Agdez - Erg Chegaga
After a big breakfast, continue your trip south on the 3-day Erg Chegaga desert adventure from Marrakech. Follow the old Caravans Road to Zagora, the last big town before the Sahara Desert. Here, you can visit a local pottery workshop and the historic Quranic library in Tamgroute village. Keep heading south to M’hamid, the last stop before the Sahara, where you’ll enjoy a tasty lunch. In the afternoon, drive about 65km off-road, passing through different parts of the Sahara like sand dunes, rocky desert, and oases, until you reach the Erg Chegaga dunes. Take a camel ride at sunset to your desert camp, set among the tall dunes of Erg Chegaga (300m high). Watch the beautiful sunset from the top of the dunes, then enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night under the starry desert sky.

Day 3: Erg Chegaga – Marrakech
Wake early to witness the enchanting sunrise painting the dunes with a kaleidoscope of colours, offering moments of tranquillity in this magical setting. Following breakfast at the camp, resume your desert expedition, traversing another 90km of the Sahara Desert with ever-changing landscapes including Lake Iriqui, known for its mirages, and the mountains where fossil hunting is a possibility. Journey westward along the historic route of the “Rally Paris-Dakar” until you reach Foum Zguid, the first village after the desert, for a satisfying lunch. Proceed northward, passing through Taznakht, renowned for its Berber carpets and rugs. Optionally, visit a display room showcasing looms and skilled women at work. After a rejuvenating tea break in Ouarzazate, ascend the Atlas Mountains via an alternative route, pausing at panoramic viewpoints for photos and relaxation. Arrive back in Marrakech by late afternoon, concluding your unforgettable 3-day desert tour.
