As we leave Casablanca, we'll travel to Rabat’s historic sites before heading to the blue streets of Chefchaouen. Continue to Fes, visiting ancient Roman ruins and vibrant medinas o. Journey into the desert, riding camels over Merzouga’s dunes and sleeping under the stars in a Berber camp. Marvel at Todra Gorge’s cliffs and Dades Valley’s landscapes, then visit Ouarzazate’s film studios and Ait Benhaddou’s famous kasbah. Cross the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech, where bustling souks and palaces await, before returning to Casablanca.
Your journey begins in Casablanca, Morocco’s bustling economic hub. Start with a visit to the iconic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the world, followed by a stroll along the scenic Corniche for stunning ocean views. After exploring Casablanca, head to Rabat, the capital city, where you’ll discover its rich history and culture. Visit the Royal Palace, the ancient Chellah Necropolis, and the charming Kasbah of the Udayas, a picturesque fortress overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Spend the night in Rabat, soaking in the city’s tranquil atmosphere.
On the second day, depart for Chefchaouen, a serene town nestled in the Rif Mountains. Known as the “Blue City” for its striking blue-painted streets and buildings, Chefchaouen is a photographer’s paradise. Spend the day wandering through the medina, visiting the Kasbah Museum, and enjoying the laid-back vibe of this enchanting town. The evening is yours to relax and savor the local cuisine while taking in the mountain views. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
After breakfast, travel to Fes, Morocco’s cultural and spiritual heart. Along the way, stop at the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the holy city of Moulay Idriss, where Morocco’s first Islamic dynasty was established. Arrive in Fes and begin exploring its rich heritage. Visit the Bou Inania Madrasa, an architectural masterpiece, and the famous tanneries, where leather is still dyed using traditional methods. Spend the night in Fes, immersing yourself in the city’s vibrant atmosphere.
Depart Fes early and journey toward the Sahara Desert. Pass through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, often called “Little Switzerland” for its alpine-style architecture. Continue to Midelt for lunch, then drive through the breathtaking Ziz Valley, known for its lush oasis and palm groves. Arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes, where you’ll switch to camels for a trek into the desert. Witness a mesmerizing sunset over the golden dunes and spend the night in a traditional Berber desert camp, enjoying a magical evening under the stars.
If we wake up early, we can enjoy the beautiful sunrise, where the colors of the sand dunes mix with the shadows to create an amazing view. After breakfast, we’ll ride camels for a few hours (or less, depending on your preference). Then, we’ll head to Tinghir and the Todra Gorges for lunch. Along the way, we’ll pass through Tinejdad and the Todra Valley. This area is stunning, and there are many chances to take walks, like by the river through the gardens or along the road on the other side of the gorge. Later, we’ll continue to the Dades Valley and the Dades Gorges, where we’ll spend the night in a hotel.
After breakfast, we will drive through the villages in this beautiful area, passing fields worked by Berber women, with the High Atlas mountains in the background. Our trip will then take us to Ouarzazate, following the Rose Valley, known for its Rose Festival in May, and past the Kasbahs in the Skoura oasis. Next, we’ll visit Ouarzazate, often called the Hollywood of Morocco, where we’ll explore the film museum. Then, we’ll head to the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a famous location for many Hollywood movies. This is the most well-known kasbah in Morocco. From here, we’ll cross the Tizi n’Tichka pass, the highest in Africa. In the late afternoon, we’ll arrive in Marrakech.
Spend your final morning exploring Marrakech’s highlights. Visit the bustling Jemaa el-Fnaa square, the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, the stunning Bahia Palace, and the vibrant souks filled with colorful handicrafts and spices. After soaking in the energy of Marrakech, return to Casablanca, marking the end of your incredible 7-day journey through Morocco.
